Last Updated: July 8, 2020 By Cheeky Team Member

Spinach is a vegetable that can be prepared in many different ways, stored for a short time or even frozen to be consumed in the future. It is a very underrated food with many nutritional benefits. Rich in minerals and vitamins, it is also a good source of calcium. Spinach can be steamed, blanched or sautéed, and can be a side dish or a main course. When purchased, it should be fresh and bright green. Stalks that are tender mean the plant was young. Spinach can be stored in a sealed plastic container or bag. Freezing is recommended only for spinach that is cooked prior to freezing.
