Well, you’re here reading this aren’t you?
I don’t think of my self as a survivalist or really even a prepper, but as a woman who recognizes that we gotta be ready to take care of ourselves when SHTF (Shit Hits The Fan) for the less informed.
I used to think that SHTF was some end of the world bullshit term. Turns out, over the last 10 years the shit my fan, and a lot of other peoples MORE than most were prepared for.
The downturn in the economy tanked me. Cash flow turned into a cash drip, and frankly, it’s embarrassing as hell to admit that I wasn’t ready. I had no idea that when the real estate market failed that I’d be affected, but I was, as were our employees, our vendors, our suppliers, our friends. I’ve gotten to see trickle down economy up close and personal as I fired employees, end contracts with services providers, and eventually sold my home that I had leveraged to grow the business.
And now, finally, I’m grateful.
Grateful, sure that sounds like crap, I know. But I am. Because now I’m more ready than I’ve ever been in my life to take care of myself and help provide for my family. Preparedness is a journey, not a destination. Thanks for joining in.
